Determining the cause for illness can be a very difficult task when dealing with companion animals. Our pets can not tell us how they feel or what is bothering them. It is our job to use our medical expertise combined with your pet’s history, a thorough physical exam, and diagnostic findings in order to piece together what may be affecting your pet’s health.
We currently have a full in house laboratory including:
- Blood hematology
- Serum chemistry
- Electrolyte analyzers
- Digital radiology
- Ultrasound

We can utilize these tools to determine any abnormalities that your pet may have internally that may or may not be seen on exam or in their outward behavior. This is important because it allows us to get to the root of your pet’s ailments and find the underlying cause so we can be sure we are treating appropriately.
Routine blood screening in healthy pets is recommended once yearly. This allows us an insight into what is “normal” for your pet making it easier to detect abnormalities before they cause your pet harm. Please ask us about our preventative care plans that include routine blood screening.
